Bragging Rights -
Best Business Entry!

Oh what a happy bunch our boys were! Our first entry in the Nauticalia Raft Race at the Shepperton Village Fair will not be the last. An amazing event - 42 entries on the day, absolute mayhem on the start line - just what we like! Captain Trev insisted on handing out vouchers for free Spotted Dick & Custard rather than forming up so The Steam Pudding arrived on the line towards the back of the field. There's nothing like a spotted dick and custard to get you going and so, in an astonishing blur of flashing frying pans, the boys set to and carved their way through the field finishing a comfortable (and creditable) seventh. Several hundred more very soggy vouchers were handed out to the huge finish line crowd (well over 1000!). Efforts were rewarded when The Steam Pudding, despite hailing from well south of the river, collected the Best Business Entry Trophy - our happiness was complete!

Charity Twenty20 Family Fun Day

                     Friday 17th July, 6pm start.

2nd Chef Matt (below - he's good!) organises the Hersham Sharks Charity Twenty20 do - so much more than just a cricket match! This is a family fun event so alongside the match will be a Bungee Run & Assault Course (awesome in the rain), Tug of War, Egg & Spoon Race, Sack Race - in fact a veritable Mini Olympics! On top of all this there will be a BBQ, bar, music AND fireworks! Entry is a voluntary £2 on the gate, food and drink also very reasonably priced. BUT there's more - a silent auction for Signed Sporting Memorabilia will include items such as an 08/09 Chelsea Team shirt (17 signatures so far) and an 09 Australia Ashes Team shirt.

There is of course a serious side to all of this - to raise money for the Down's Syndrome Association. This is a fantastic locally run national charity who do absolutely stirling work, they are the only organisation in this country focusing solely on all aspects of living successfully with Down's syndrome. So while Matt loses hair at an alarming rate organising the egg & spoon race, all you have to do is turn up and have fun!

Exciting News -
Weybridge has a New     Pottery Painting
Parlour!

Dining Room waitress Una (on right) - (Steam Pudding artist in pink dressing gown above!) has teamed up with good friend Nico
to create Happy Potter Ceramics,
a contemporary ceramic studio based at the Café on the Wey, Hamm Moore Lane (Weybridge Business Park). We are delighted at the news and if you have read our history pages you will know why! Una was a stalwart on the team at Dynamic Ceramic and ended up running the shop for us - so she is well qualified. Parties are going to be big - young and old alike, and they have some great ideas for corporate team building events.

MORE WINNERS!
10 more people are winners this month, but unlike last month you win TWO FREE PUDDINGS to accompany your next meal at The Dining Room! Vouchers are valid for a month so don't forget to book....
                                   .....it could be you!
